About the citations

The ACCEFYN Journal uses the standards of the APA Manual, proposed in the 7th version of the American Psychological Association (APA) that can be consulted directly on its official website (https://normas-apa.org/), these use an author-date citation system.

Text

All bibliographic references will be inserted in the text and must bear in parentheses the surname of the first author (in bold) and the year of publication.

If the surname of the author or authors is part of the formal structure of the sentence, only the year of publication will be placed in parentheses.

Example

Pérez and Ribas (1996).

If it is not part of the formal structure of the text, it will be placed in parentheses.

Example

If there are only two authors, the two surnames will be given,

Example

(Pérez and Ribas, 1996)

If there are more than two, the first surname will be followed by et al.

Example

(Pérez et al., 1996)

They are organized alphabetically and are cited as follows:

1) Journal article. APA standards indicate:

  • It also goes in italics the volume and without italics the number if there is one, it is separated from the pages by a comma

4) Online journals

  • If the journal article does not have a DOI and comes from an academic research database, end the reference after page range. Do not include database information in the reference.
  • The reference in this case is the same as for a printed journal article. In other words, do not include database information in the reference unless the journal article comes from a database that publishes original and proprietary content.
  • If the journal article does not have a DOI but has a URL that will resolve for readers (for example, it is from an online journal that is not part of a database), include the URL of the article at the end of the reference. In such a case, it is not written available because it works just like a DOI.
