Abstract

A new genus of Asteraceae (Mutisieae) is proposed, known to date from tbe Macizo de San Lorenzo on the northwestern flank of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. The new taxon shows affinity to Jungia L.f. and is characterized by its herbaceou and cespitose habitas well the presence of solitary and homogamous terminal capitula, alternating leaves largely petiolate, orbicular, hairy, always subtended by large sessil foliaceous bracts.
