Lourteig, A.: El género Montia (Portulacaceae) en el Hemisferio Austral. Rev. Acad. Colomb. Cienc. 18 (68): 41-48, 1991. ISSN 0370-3908.
Se presenta una revisión histórica del género Montia L., se proporciona una clave para las tres especies registradas en Sur América, dos de ellas endémicas de los páramos de Colombia y Venezuela, M. meridensis Friedrich y M. biapiculata, especie nueva que se describe e ilustra y M. fontana L., especie cosmopolita (considerada como europea), de la cual se discuten tanto los aspectos sistemáticos como los relativos a su distribución geográfica. Se complementa la información con datos relativos a M. australasica, cuarta especie del Hemisferio Sur.
