Abstract
A new species of Aristolochia (Aristolochiaceae) from the Villavicencio area (department of Meta, Colombia) is described and illustrated. Toe new species belongs to Aristolochia ser. Thyrsicae. A key to distinguish it from its closely related species from northem South America is also presented.
