Abstract

This work presents the physical and chemical characterization of fresh asphalts CIB-7090 from Barrancabermeja refinery and recovered asphalt of the same origin that had been used as paving during five years. The asphaltenes extracted from both types of samples are analyzed. The comparison between the results for both samples contributes to understanding the aging process of asphalts.
