Abstract
“Deviations from Yalkowsky-Roseman log-linear solubility equation for naproxen in ethanol + water cosolvent mixtures”. The deviations observed in the solubility of naproxen in ethanol + water cosolvent mixtures with respect to the logarithmic-lineal model proposed by Yalkowsky and Roseman have been analyzed at 25.0 °C. Negative deviations were obtained in cosolvent compositions from 0.0 to 0.3 in volume fraction of ethanol and positive from 0.3 to 1.0, being the positive deviations greater in magnitude than the negative deviations. The results were discussed in terms of solute-solvent and solvent-solvent interactions, especially in terms of water structure and hydrophobic hydration.
