Abstract
A new species of the genus Huilaea Wurdack from Colombia is described and illustrated. It is characterized by the largest number of flowers per inflorescence, in the genus, and by its whitish petals. The species is from the “nudo de Santurbán”, high part of the Zulia river watershed, where the cordillera oriental (Colombia) bifurcates into the Serrania del Perija and the Cordillera de Mérida between 2300 and 2800 m of altitude. Some ecological information and use is presented.
