Abstract

In the Northeastern part of the Serranía de San Lucas and its transition to the Mompox Depression, outcrop Precambrian migmatitic granites and gneisses, vulcanites possibly Juratriasic, in the southern part of the arca, Cretaceous sed.iments (mostly limestones), Terciary vulcanites (ignimbrites, breccias, lapilli and tuffs), and Tertiary plu­tonites, ali partially covered by Recent river and lagoon sediments. Additionally, the tectonic aspects and the geologic cvolution of the arca are dis­cussed.
