Abstract
The present study deals with taxonomic characteristics of four colombian species of the genus Strandesia Stuhlmann, 1888. The four forms are included in a single group in consequence of sharing certain morphological features of the extremities, the furca and the valves. Especially are standing out the asymmetry of the carapax and a fold of the second marginal region in the dorsocaudal area of the right valve, which posterior prolonga- tion forms part of a caudal protuberance. Three of the four forms are new for science.
