Abstract
This work analyses the diversity of the Colombian freshwater fish fauna related to the main theories about the origin of South American fresh water ichthyofauna, apparen- tly the richest in the world. Also, includes the taxonomical groups and their ecological, adaptations and tables of distribution in the river basins of the different fish families.
