Abstract
Twenty four species of the family Serranidae have been reported for Isla de Gorgona (Colombian Pacific). Epinephelus cifuentesi Lavanberg & Grove and Serranus huascarii Steindachner, new records for Colombia, and Diplectrum maximum Hildebrand, Epinephelus acanthistius (Gilbert), Mycteroperca xenarcha Jordan and Paralabrax callaensis Starks, new reports for Gorgona, are remarkable; almost all of them are economically highly important.
