Abstract
The first mosasaur of Colombia is reported. The remains (an articulated skull, some vertebrae and ribs), are defined as a new genus and species of the Plioplatecarpini tribe, Yaguarasaurus columbianus. These remains were collected from a layer of limestone (Upper Turonian) of the Villeta Formation, in the surroundings of the village of Yaguará, Huila. A careful description of the fossil remains and a brief analysis of the finding is presented.
