Abstract
In the course of a revision of Cibadium L. (Compositae, Heliantheae) I obtained information that suggest that this genus forms a natural group with the related genera Desmanthodium Benth., Ichthyothere Mart. and Stachycephalum Sch. Bip. The genera Galinsoga R. & P. and Calea L. appear to be more distantly related.
