Abstract
The author presents a complete account of the Mallophaga previously known from the avian family Cotingidae, which consist of two species of Menoponidae and five of Philopteridae, all of them described earlier by him.
A new genus is established for a considerable group of Philopteridae, some of which appear to be closely related to the genus Trogonirmus, found exclusively in the family Trogonidae.
The new genus, Cotingacola, contains twelve new species and one new subspecies, divided into two groups (A and B), according to their general Philopteridae-type morphology, some of which have now been included in this new genus.
