Resumen

Se estudió la histoquímica y la estructura por microscopía óptica (MO) y microscopía electrónica de transmisión (TEM) de la glándula mentoniana de machos adultos de dos especies de Hylabogotensis grupo similares en forma y función con las glándulas mentonianas (hedónicas) de especies de Plethodontidae. Un gran ensanchamiento del antebrazo de los machos adultos de Phrynopus adenobrachius, estudiada con los mismos métodos (MO, TEM) muestra que un sistema “lagunar” en el estrato esponjoso de la dermis contribuye al afianzamiento de la pareja durante el amplexo.
