Se estudian y describen restos de cinco mamíferos fósiles continentales de la Costa Caribe Colombiana: Neoglyptatelus sincelejanus n. sp. (Glyptodontidae, Glyptatelinae), Gyriabrus royoi (Rodentia, Dinomyidae), Mixotoxodon larensis (Toxodontidae, Toxodontinae), un Toxodontidae indet. y Haplomastodon waringi (Gomphotheriidae). Sus ubicaciones geográficas y sus respectivas edades hacen posible considerar y discutir aspectos nomenclaturales y cronoestratigráficos de algunas unidades litoestratigráficas neogénicas aflorantes en la región.
