Abstract
Salvador Rizo, administrator, director of the School of Drawing and one of the principal painters of the Royal Botanical Expedition of the New Kingdom of Granada (1783 - 1816), gave his life for his country and in defense of his ideals on october 12, 1816. In his memory, various documents are presented wich highlight some of his merits as a member of the Expedition.
