Abstract
Several taxonomic novelties are identified in the tribe Alchórnae, based on a phylogenetic analysis of the subtribe Conceveibinae. The subtribe is presented as a taxon fored only by the genus Conceveiba which is divided into the section Conceveiba with 10 _species and the section Gavarretia with 4 species, two of them new for science. Polyandra is included in Conceveiba and Adenophaedra prealta is included in Conceveiba prealta as synonyms, the inclusion of Gavarretia is ratified in Conceveiba, and Conceveiba krukoffii is validated based on the characters of the female inflorescence and the ovary. The two African species that had been Conceveiba are excluded of Conceveibinae and assigned to the subtribe Alchorninae in a new genus.
