Abstract
Two new species of Vernonieae (Lessingianthus gonzalezii S. Díaz & S. Obando and Critoniopsis cinerea S. Díaz & S. Obando) are described and illustrated. Commentaries are given relative to their affinities and differences. A new section of Lessingianthus is proposed.
