Abstract

Eggs of 19 species or subspecies in five genera of Dismorphiini are described. The characterization and illustration of the eggs takes into consideration the main traits of the structure of the chorion: the number of (short or long) longitudinal axes and ribs. The colors of the egg are also considered, being a specific characteristic, as well as the proportions of length and maximal diameter of width. In some cases measurements are given. Four models of eggs are typified: widened-ellipsoidal or fusiform, globular-meloniform, barrel-shaped and acuminate-spicular. Comparisons are drawn from the descriptions and their possible taxonomic implications commented.
