Abstract
A review of the scientific knowledge of Uredinales was conducted, making emphasis in the registered Colombian species, with a review of the host list and evaluation, by botanical specialists, of the degree of threat of its known hosts in order to prepare the red book of rust fungi of Colombia. The results show how the majority of colections have been performed on weeds, with a few records on wild or endangered plants, what could be ascribed to the sampling types. A strategy to know the real quantity of rusts threatened in Colombia is proposed.
