Abstract

The isolation and characterization of two native bacterium strains that produce exopolysaccharides (EPS) was done. With these strains we produced and analyzed the enzyme implicated in the synthesis of (EPS) with the objective of determining the enzymatic activity. These strains were identified as Raoutella terrigena and Pseudomonas fluorescens. R. terrigena produce the enzyme intracellularly and through an the induction mechanism. The enzyme synthesized by P. fluorescens is extracellular and of constitutive expression.
