Abstract

A new genus of Trigoniaceae, Isidodendron, from the rain forest of the ,Magdalena Valley (Colombia) is described and illustrated. The only species known, have alternate leaves, simple racemose inflorescences and samaroid fruits. The taxonomic position within the Trigoniaceae, and the phytogeographycal implications of the discovery is scarcely known.
